Angela_Bassett

Angela Evelyn Bassett was born in the United States. Known for her work in film and television from the mid-80s onwards, she's been awarded numerous awards such as two Golden Globe Awards and sixteen NAACP Image Awards in addition to nominations for two Academy Awards and seven Primetime Emmy Awards. Bassett is a native of New York New York and raised by an aunt living in Winston-Salem North Carolina. Bassett along with her sister who were about five years old, emigrated from New York to St. Petersburg to live with the mother of their divorced father. Bassett was inspired to become an actress after she saw the production Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, starring James Earl Jones. Yale University New Haven Connecticut granted her a bachelor's degree (1980) with a focus on African American study, and a graduate degree (1983), from the Yale School of Drama. At Yale she met Courtney B. Vance a fellow actor and the two were married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. Master of Arts (Afro-American studies) in 1980. A Master of Fine Arts (Drama) from Yale School of Drama School. Angela Bassett has been cast in the lead role of Ramonda for the action film, i.e. Black Panther: Wakanda forever (2022).
